On 15th May 2025, members of the Technology Service Providers Association of Kenya (TESPOK) held an engagement session with Mombasa County Governor, H.E. Abdulswamad Nassir. The meeting, held in Mombasa, focused on key infrastructure challenges affecting the ICT sector within the county.

Among the critical issues raised were infrastructure vandalism and the rise of unfair competition from unlicensed Internet Service Providers (ISPs). These challenges continue to hinder the efficient operation and expansion of licensed service providers in the region.

Dr. Fiona Asonga, Chief Executive Officer of TESPOK, and Governor Nassir committed to working collaboratively to address these hurdles. Their joint commitment marks a significant step towards improving the policy and operational environment for ICT infrastructure deployment in the county.

The partnership is expected to pave the way for smoother operations for TESPOK members and contribute to accelerating digital transformation and connectivity in Mombasa County.
