Kenya Internet Exchange Point (KIXP) Services

The Kenya Internet Exchange Point enables networks to connect, exchange traffic locally, and improve internet performance across the region. Our services are designed to support efficient connectivity, collaboration, and innovation among members.

1. Multilateral Peering

Members connect through KIXP route servers to exchange traffic with multiple networks at once.
This simplifies connectivity, reduces costs, and improves local internet speed.

2.  Bilateral Peering

Networks can establish direct peering agreements with each other over the KIXP for commercial arrangements or customised routing needs, giving members greater control over traffic exchange.

3. Shared Ports

Partner organisations can combine resources and access KIXP infrastructure through shared connectivity options, making participation more flexible and cost-effective.

4.Private VLAN (PVLAN) Services

Members can deliver value-added services to each other over secure private connections within KIXP, enabling specialised collaborations and solutions.

5. Custom Port Management

KIXP provides tailored support for member connectivity, including customised port configurations and hands-on technical assistance to ensure seamless operations.

6. Bespoke On-Boarding Assistance

New members receive guided support during network setup and integration, helping them join the exchange quickly and efficiently.
